David Fajolles

David Fajolles works at the French Ministry of Culture and Communication as the head of the Research and Prospective department. Prior to this, he was responsible for the promotion of French language and local languages in the Ministry of Culture (2011).
He started his career being in charge of the “Bureau du livre” in Brazil as a member of the French cultural network abroad and directed the “Centre Culturel Francais/French Cultural Center” in Cape Verde. At the UNESCO, first as an advisor to the prospective department and then as a member of the cabinet of the Deputy Director for social sciences and humanities, he contributed to the realisation of the world report “Les Sociétés du Savoir” (2005). He first started to work on European studies as the speechwriter for  the former French Minister of European Affairs, Noelle Lenoir. Since then, he has worked for several French think tanks (Fondation pour l’innovation politique, Cercle des Européens), and as a fellow researcher at  the  European Union Institute for Security Studies.
David Fajolles graduated from the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ULM, department of social sciences) and the University of Princeton. He is a visiting professor at the Institute of Political Studies (Paris).
