Sebastian Körber, born in 1966, is the Deputy Secretary General of the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa), Stuttgart, and Head of its Media Department.
 
Sebastian Körber studied Politics, English, American and Roman Studies at the universities of Münster, Trieste and Freiburg, and “European Journalism” in Strasbourg and Brussels. He then worked for the French news agency AFP, reporting from Strasbourg and Brussels. From 1998 to 2004, Sebastian Körber was editor-in-chief of “Kulturaustausch” (i.e. “Cultural Exchange”), a journal for international perspectives, based in Berlin. He is the author and editor of numerous publications in the fields of foreign cultural and educational policies and international cultural relations, such as the “Culture Report/EUNIC Yearbook”.
 
He is a visiting lecturer at the University of Tübingen, a juror of the Society for the Promotion of African, Asian and Latin American Literature (litprom) and a board member of the “Deutsch-Amerikanisches Zentrum/James-F.-Byrnes-Institut e.V.”, Stuttgart, as well as a board member of the “Fondation Espace du savoir Europe – Méditerranée” (WEM). Sebastian Körber is also member of the board of trustees of the Academy of Fashion and Design (AMD) with locations in Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Berlin and Munich.
