ifa / More Europe

More Europe and its partners examine external cultural relations best practices.

The Anfal Memory Forum Project – funded by the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen – ifa) – is a project engaging women “Anfal” survivors in a public debate over how to deal with the past, ultimately aiming at creating a self-designed and self-administered memorial site to represent their specific experiences as women during and after Anfal*.

Learn more about the project and its outcomes.

For more information, take a look at the HAUKARI – Association for International Cooperation website (in German), coordinator of the project, or download the information in English.

* Under the code-word “Anfal” (The Spoils), the Iraqi Army destroyed thousands of villages in the Kurdish North of Iraq in 1988.
